Back in the day when I was a devoted emo kid and only listened to Warped Tour bands, I came across Dr Brixx and his YouTube page filled with remixes of pop punk songs left and right. They were all so well put together and anything seemed to go, from pop staples mixed with post hardcore bands, to bands like Fall Out Boy and Paramore mixed with other similar groups such as Mayday Parade. Dr Brixx really had a talent for organizing a mashup and making his remix sound even better than either of the two originals. This mix of Pierce The Veil’s 2012 song “Bulls In The Bronx” and Selena Gomez’s 2013 “Come And Get It” is a prime example. This mix could not have worked out any better. I have always been obsessed with the instrumental to Selena’s track and just the general vocals and lyrics on the PTV song, but never would I have guess how good they would sound together. The beats and timing is all on par, and the tone of both tracks easily lay together, making it feel very natural and unforced. This is one of my favorite remixes I’ve ever come across and I only remember to listen to maybe a couple times a year at this point, but when I do hear it again it still has the same excitement it did upon first listen.
