Two Door Cinema Club – Gameshow

Two Door Cinema Club’s 2016 release Gameshow was an album I adored and still frequently go back to even now. It was their third release and ventured into unchartered territory for the band, moving out from their classic indie pop sound into more synth driven, new wave sounding tunes. This was their third release, and the cover has three symmetrical bars to represent that, but one aspect that is important to note is the color scheme and crystal looking backdrop. Many parts of this record are dreamy and easy to get lost in, almost like a black hole. Using cool colors that form a gradient from purple to blue to teal while looking like they’re all layered on top of a delicate black sparkling stone is reminiscent of the songs that take you to another place. The cover art is eccentric and vibrant just like the record and has a very distinct look that is easily associated with the band and this album.
