I remember coming across this record on a vinyl once and instantly purchased it before even hearing the record specifically because of the album artwork. According to Wikipedia, the cover was done by a French illustrator, and I think I love it so much because it’s simple and reminds me of my childhood. The colors look like they’ve been filled in with a crayon instead of some computer editing, and the way the characters head, hands and feet are all much smaller than his body makes it feel un-life like, which is something comforting to me at times. The way he’s staring out at the crescent moon in what I’m assuming are his pajamas makes me think about staring at the snow on dark, winter mornings, or waiting for the sunrise to come up. I can’t tell if it’s supposed to be dismal or not, but I’ve always found comfort in it.
