Marina, formerly known as Marina and the Diamonds, is known for her eccentric album covers that always either have a specific theme, are colorful or just feel very theatrical. And while I enjoy all of them (especially the one for her third studio album Froot), the cover for her most recent project has easily become my favorite. It’s incredibly simple, based in black and white with Marina only wearing dangly earrings and her hair in a messy bun. The lettering is gorgeous and almost romantic feeling but also very edgy, which also goes along with her portrait as well. While I love cover art that is intricate and artsy, sometimes taking it back to basics is the best way to go.
