A power rock song from 2006 and an indie pop song from 2011 are two things I’m sure nobody imaged would work together, but upon first listen, this mashup is truly legendary. “Through The Fires And Flames” is a song anyone who played Guitar Hero will remember (wasn’t this the hardest song in the entire game?) and nobody can resist the synth driven upbeat pop sound of “Midnight City”. And although they come from two completely different worlds, each beat and melody is layered impeccably and it sounds very natural, as if the two songs were just meant to be remixed together eventually. It’s already difficult to blend together two similar pop songs, let alone two tracks from contrasting genres, but this mix makes it seem so simple.
