Rihanna, *NSYNC, Willow Smith – Remix
Ok listen, I’ve heard Willow Smith’s debut single “Whip My Hair” get a lot of flack over the years and I was always a little embarrassed to admit that I actually loved the track, just because it was seen as childish. I wasn’t embarrassed enough however, because I do vividly remember jamming out that song quite a lot during my freshman year of high school and truth be told, it’s still a jam to this day. Rihanna’s 2007 hit single “Umbrella” and *Nsync’s early 2000’s jam “Bye Bye Bye” are both songs that I have heard a disgusting amount of times, but are pop classics at this point and never get old. And who would have known that a combo of all three songs is something that would have made my life exponentially better. This remix of these three songs is perfectly blended and displays the best aspect of music from three eras: the start of the 21st century, the dynamism of mid 2000’s pop and the early demonstrations of the 2010’s. Somehow, they fit so nicely together and although they all have different meaning, they compliment each other very well in tone and lyrics. Trust me when I say that listening to this won’t be a waste of your time.
